Overnight transatlantic flight to Rome.June 30th - Arrive Rome (stay 2 nights)
On arrival at Rome Fiumicino Airport we transfer you to the hotel. After check-in and later in the afternoon you'll meet your Tour Director. This evening, why not stroll around this exciting city?
Hotel: Carlo Magno (2 nights)July 1st - Rome sightseeing & at leisure
This morning's guided sightseeing tour features St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican as well as views of the Forum and Colosseum. Later, there's time at leisure to perhaps relax with a cappuccino at a sidewalk café, go shopping or take an optional excursion to Tivoli. This evening, why not enjoy dinner in a local trattoria? (Buffet Breakfast)July 2nd - Rome – Venice (Main.) (2 nights)
Today's journey takes us through the Latium and into the beautiful Tuscan hills. From here we continue over the Apennines to the smallest Republic in the world – the old- world atmosphere of San Marino, where we have time to explore the pretty cobbled streets and shop for souvenirs. Then we travel along the coast and across the Po Delta to the Venetian plains and magical Venice. This evening, we enjoy dinner at our hotel. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Hotel: San Giuliano (2 nights)July 3rd - Venice sightseeing & at leisure
We marvel at the sights and sounds of this city on our cruise by vaporetto to St. Mark's Square. We'll see the Bridge of Sighs, Doges' Palace and the Basilica of St. Mark, before we watch a demonstration of Murano glass-blowing. Then free time to perhaps take a trip out into the Lagoon and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch and later maybe experience a relaxing gondola serenade! (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)July 4th - Venice (Main.) – Verona – Florence (2 nights)
Today we're off to Shakespeare's Verona to see Juliet's balcony and the Roma arena. Here there's time to explore before we drive via Mantova and Modena into the region of Emilia Romagna. From here we travel
into Tuscany, en route to Renaissance Florence for the next two nights. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Hotel: Relais Certosa (2 nights)July 5th - Florence sightseeing & at leisure
After breakfast our morning sightseeing tour on foot shows us the Baptistry, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Piazza Signoria and the Basilica of Santa Croce. Then enjoy a demonstration of fine leatherwork, before free time to perhaps explore further or shop for leather and gold. (Buffet Breakfast)July 6th - Florence – Assisi – Rome
Today we travel past Chianti vineyards and into the Umbria. Then we make our way into the Apennine Hills past Perugia to reach Assisi – home of St. Francis. Here we visit the Basilica and see the tomb of the much-loved saint, as well as the Giotto frescoes, plus a visit to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. Next, it's back to Rome, the 'Eternal City'. This evening, don't forget to throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain to ensure a safe return one day. (Buffet Breakfast)
